The first full day of action kicked off in the NFL. The new season is upon us and—several teams would strike first blood as the first of 17 games would be held amid a packed schedule.
Joe Burrow missed most of last season with an injury, but the second-year starter would bounce back to lead the Bengals to a 27-24 win over the Vikings. His 261 yards and two TD’s (and a last-minute field goal) made all the difference in Cincy’s overtime victory. Now, the most surprising QB from last season was no doubt Justin Herbert. The Chargers found a diamond in the rough, and the young quarterback would not disappoint in San Diego’s game one victory. Herbert would end up tossing for 337 yards and a touchdown in the 20-16 win over Washington.
Russell Wilson had his Seahawks ca-cawing in their win over the Colts! Ciara’s baby daddy came to play, and he’d put up four touchdowns on the day. Carson Wentz looked okay as he bounced back from injury but, at the end of the day, he doesn’t have DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett. Seattle’s receivers made all the difference in their 28-16 win over Indianapolis. Dude’s combined for 160 yards and three TD’s. Oh yeah, they were straight up ballin! Kansas City had an impressive come from behind win against Cleveland—thanks to you know who. Oh, Patrick Mahomes came to play—throwing for two touchdowns and running it in for another. Baker Mayfield would put up 321 yards passing but, Mahomes is Mahomes—and the Chiefs would go on to take it 29-33.
