The Milwaukee Bucks capped off a historic playoff run to win their first championship in 50 years last night! They beat Chris Paul and a scrappy Phoenix Suns team 105-98 at Fiserv Forum to deliver Milwaukee a title win on their home court.
Giannis Antetokounmpo made all the difference, dropping 50 points in the series clinching win! It was his third Finals game scoring 40-plus points. But let’s not fail to mention, 17 of those points came from the free throw line. That’s right, Giannis would exorcise his free throw demons and drain 17-19 from the stripe. He and the rest of the crew locked in like they knew the Larry O’Brien trophy was not leaving the building.
But let’s take a moment and mention how great Khris Middleton played. His big shots are gonna have people renaming car parts. Yeah, he was so clutch down the stretch they’re gonna start calling that pedal in your car ‘The Middleton.’ His 17 and Bobby Portis’s 16 were exactly what Milwaukee needed to outlast Phoenix.
But, it would be Giannis taking home the Bill Russell Finals MVP trophy. And the new champ, he wouldn’t walk off the court until he’d remarked, “Let’s do it again!” Now, I can definitely see him Freakin’ it again next season. Congratulations Milwaukee!
