Alabama is No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll for the first time this season. With its top ranking, the Crimson Tide extend their record of consecutive seasons with at least one week on top of the rankings to 13.
Nick Saban’s squad takes over the top spot after Notre Dame’s 47-40 upset of Clemson in double-overtime Saturday. For their effort, the Irish took over the Number 2 spot—their highest ranking since 2012—while Ohio State remained at Number 3 while Clemson tumbled past them down to Number 4, giving up the top spot for the first time this season.
Texas A&M also moved up in the rankings to Number 5 after defeating South Carolina 48-3 on Saturday while the Florida Gators jumped to Number 6 after defeating Georgia 44-28 to snap a three-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.
Oregon (1-0), Georgia (4-2), Wisconsin (1-0) and Oklahoma State (5-1) round out the Top 10.
