78-Year-Old Grandma Enters Powerlifting Competition

  • A few years ago, 78-year-old Linda Patterson had a car accident and then had her knees replaced, leaving her with little strength.
  • Trainer Derrick Williams says her first test when she started training was to get down on the floor and get back up, something Williams says she couldn’t do.
  • She’s come a long way; Friday, she’ll compete in the Masters 4 category at the Natural Athlete Strength Association Summer Nationals in the squat, bench press, and deadlift.
