10:15-WEATHER AND STUFF

Day 28 of having my Bells Palsy…getting better

Sunny w/ a high of 55. N wind from 10-15mph

So How long did it take you to feel truly comfortable around your significant other?

It takes 7-1/2 months for a woman to feel completely comfortable around a man. And by comfortable, we mean comfortable enough to burp or go to the bathroom with her partner in the same room. Here are things women feel comfortable doing after 7-1/2 months:

  • Act more ‘myself’
  • Pass wind/burp
  • Go to the toilet
  • Wear no makeup
  • Wear messy clothes
  • Wear unsexy/unmatching underwear
  • Pluck hairs

1045a-News You Probably Didn’t Hear

Astronomers found the closest black hole to earth. [It’s full of lost socks.]

A study found that mammals tend to grow bigger brains when their fathers have an active share in parenting. [So thanks a lot, dad, for sitting on the couch all day drinking beer.]

1115a-WEIRD INTERNATIONAL NEWS

A man watched as two other men put on ski masks and checked out their guns before going inside to rob a cafe in Romania. The robbers found the cash register locked and had to be satisfied with the money in the tip jar on the counter. When they got back outside to escape, they found their car was gone. Seems after the robbers went inside the building, the quick-thinking witness got in the getaway car and drove it to a nearby police station.

Police in Germany say a male driver trying to impress a pretty woman walking down the street ended up driving his Ferrari into a tree, a road sign and a fence before finally wrapping it around a lamppost.

1145a-HOW ONE WOMAN SAVED $36,000 PAINLESSLY

I was going through my show archives from a few years ago and came across this ingenious method for saving money. Journalism professor (Lasell College) Marie C. Franklin shared how she was able to sock away and additional $36,000 over 12 years with almost no effort. Instead of spending every $5 bill that passed through her hands, she saved them. That’s it. Franklin said that the number one reason most people don’t save is that they don’t have a savings plan. But her $5 plan worked. And it was boosted by her other habit of paying mostly cash for things — not using a credit or debit card.

115p-QUICK JOKE

A father asked his 10-year old son if he knew about the birds and the bees. “I don’t want to know,” replied the son. “Promise me you won’t tell me.” Confused, the father asked what was wrong. The boy sobbed, “When I was six, I got ‘Easter Bunny’ speech. At seven, I got the ‘Tooth Fairy’ speech. When I was eight, you hit me with the ‘Santa’ speech. If you’re going to tell me now that grown-ups don’t really mess around, I’ll have nothing to live for.”

145p-MOMS & DRIVING

If you see a woman driving and she has kids with her, give her plenty of space. A survey of more than 500 chauffeuring mothers finds that one quarter have been involved in accidents as they shuttle children to school, music lessons, ballet classes, and sports events. Nearly 70 percent have exceeded the speed limit, and more than half have run red lights. The mothers complain that children’s fighting, arguing, and shouting distracts them from their driving.

215p-MARRIAGE VIEWS

Men and women look at marriage differently. According to marriage counselors, women are much more likely to see getting hitched in terms of stability, security, and long-range-commitment, while men are more inclined to view marriage in terms of loss – of freedom, autonomy, and privacy.

245p-LONGING FOR LOVE

When it comes to wishful thinking, love tops the list. Two-thirds of those polled said they’d wish for a happy, lifelong romantic relationship. Coming in a distant second, at 11 percent, is a successful career, followed by a large house.

315p-WEDDING KISS

Why does a just-married couple have to kiss in front of everybody at the wedding? It’s a watered-down version of the old marriage custom that required a couple to consummate their marriage in the presence of several witnesses, to ensure that the consummation really took place.

345p-LEGGO OF MY EGGO

How do you feel when your dining companion takes food off your plate? A survey of 2,000 people revealed that 49 percent of us get particularly pissed when someone takes food off our plate without permission.

415p-NOTHING IS HARD TO DO

The hardest thing to do on vacation? Absolutely nothing, according to new research. A survey of adults who have traveled in the past found that more than half of those polled don’t know how to just “do nothing”.

445P- 3 QUICK THINGS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW BEFORE I GO

1-Canada has the longest coastline in the world: over 150,000 miles.

2-About 25 percent of the population sneeze when they are exposed to light.

3-In a lifetime, an average driver will release approximately 912 pints of wind inside a car.
